A gang of armed men wearing helmets, riding 20–25 motorcycles, launched a violent attack on the toll plaza of the Teesta Road Bridge and looted Tk 1.4 million before fleeing. The incident occurred around 9 PM on Wednesday at the Lalmonirhat end of the Teesta Bridge. Three employees were injured during the robbery.
Shockingly, a police patrol team led by SI Rowshan Ali was stationed just 20 feet away at the time of the attack but reportedly made no attempt to intervene. Daud Ali Sardar, the toll plaza manager, alleged that there may be collusion between the robbers and the police.
