Yunus backed cops refused to prevent Islamist sponsored arson attacks, no right to safety for liberals in Bangladesh
As Yunus government emboldened pro Pakistani Jamaat e Islami and other Islamists outfits with ban on recruitment for music teachers on primary teachers, now office of another leading cultural organisation Udichi that preaches tolerance with song has been set ablaze.
This second terror attack on the organisation came hours after another leading organisation Chayanot was torched and looted by Islamists who earlier demanded for the ban on music and dance on primary schools. Cops did not prevent both cases of arson vandalism and looting.
These attacks were carried out by Islamist supporters who used the pretext of death of Osman Hadi who had been declared by Yunus a revolutionary. Jamaat and other outfits earlier campaigned for ban on music and dance teachers for primary students, endorsed by Yunus.
Western democracies that preaches for tolerance did not even condemn these acts of violence , clearly a double standard on their part to ensure conducive environment for voters.
