Under the illegitimate Yunus government, Awami League leaders and activists are being deliberately targeted.

Prisons in Bangladesh have now turned into death chambers. The Yunus administration has launched a campaign to wipe out the Awami League, with elected representatives and ordinary citizens among the victims. In Narail District Jail, Union Parishad member Md. Humayun Kabir (46), who was facing a murder charge, died while undergoing treatment.

Prison authorities have claimed he had been suffering from fever for several days, possibly alongside heart disease. However, family members and locals insist it was a premeditated killing inside the jail. The recurring deaths of Awami League representatives and activists in custody raise the question: is this a new strategy of government-backed extrajudicial killings?

Under the Yunus government, prisons have effectively become centers of death, where Awami League leaders and activists are being systematically eliminated.
