Extrajudicial ban on Awami League opens door to jail people without trial, no human rights for dissenters in Bangladesh
Taking advantage of the the illegal ban on Awami League, the DIG for Rajshahi range issued written order authorising cops to use shown arrest against activists and supporters of Awami League if they secure bail.
The DIG asked cops to find out every single Awami League leaders and activists who manages bail and put them in jail without any trial,replicating Yunus’s pogrom.
This order justifying arbitrary detention and jail people under pretext of taking part in activities of illegally outlawed Awami League contravenes all basic fundamentals of human rights.
