Soumik, a student of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Dhaka (2014–15 session) — that polite, humble, and quiet young man — is no more. Those who stayed with him in the Shahidullah Hall dormitory’s shared room knew how simple and good-hearted he truly was. After being missing for two days, his dead body has now been found near Bogura Cantonment.
There is no rule of law in this country anymore. Rapists, murderers, and militants are walking free from prison, while innocent, blameless people are being killed every day. The media has been turned into a silent spectator — as though everyone is imprisoned under an undeclared censorship.
