Planned Arson, Looting, and Occupation Unleashed Under Yunus Government’s Watch
In a horrifying display of religious extremism, the historic Sri Sri Shmashan Kali Temple in Jangal Salimpur, Jafarabad (Sitakunda, Chattogram) was subjected to a brutal, premeditated attack last night—allegedly carried out with the tacit approval of the Yunus-led interim government.
Between 1 and 2 a.m., an armed mob of 100–150 extremists stormed the temple, set it ablaze, looted construction materials like iron rods, cement, and other valuables, and began constructing concrete walls to forcibly seize the sacred land.
This was not just an attack on a place of worship—it was a direct assault on the identity of an entire community. The government’s silence and the protection offered by local power players have emboldened these extremists.
This is not just a violation of religious freedom—it is a violation of the very soul of the constitution and humanity.
