Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Manch and a potential independent candidate for Dhaka-8, has been put on life support after being shot in Bijoynagar. Sources say Jamaat carried out the attack to sabotage the election.
Hadi was shot in the Box Culvert area of Bijoynagar around noon. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition. Right after the attack, someone was seen with Hadi, and blame is being placed on BNP-nominated candidate Mirza Abbas.
According to sources, Dhaka University former VP Sadiq Kayem is expected to run from Dhaka-8. In his immediate reaction on Facebook, he wrote: “Osman Hadi has been shot. Our uprising will begin soon to free Dhaka city from extortionists and gangsters.”
Seeing this post, netizens say this is Jamaat trying to fry a paratha on a hot pan, looking for opportunities. Instead of showing any sympathy, Sadiq is again trying to mobilize mobs so the election can be pushed back.
The election schedule was announced yesterday, Thursday. Sources say it’s just for show. The head of the interim government, Muhammad Yunus, wants to prolong his power, and he is using Jamaat to do it.
Political instability is rising across the country, and behind it are Dr. Muhammad Yunus and his close supporters.
Analysts say that under Western direction, the Yunus faction is trying to turn Bangladesh into a Syria-Iraq-like unstable zone. If the country remains volatile, the United States will be able to easily seize strategic sites such as humanitarian corridors, ports and Saint Martin’s Island. This is also helping reduce China’s influence in the region. As part of the American playbook, there is an effort to divide the country and push it toward civil conflict.
BNP has also ended up entangled in Yunus’s trap. Their involvement in extortion and other wrongdoing is noticeable.
Analysts believe the political instability is not only driven by internal factors but is part of an organized international conspiracy. They say, “The actions of Yunus and his associates are not just a disregard for the constitution and the law. It’s a deliberate process aimed at delaying the election. This kind of situation weakens democratic institutions, which is unacceptable.”
